The Island Health Division of Geriatric Psychiatry is seeking a full-time Senior Geriatric Mental Health Specialist to join our team in the Comox Valley and Campbell River areas. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert care to patients over 65 years old with psychiatric and/or cognitive challenges.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, including consulting status for outpatients, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, direct and indirect care, and leadership abilities. You will also be responsible for providing services such as Inpatient Psychiatry and Consult Liaison services at Comox Valley Hospital, Outpatient Practice with Geriatric Specialty Services, Long Term Care Outreach, and coverage for colleagues when needed.

We are committed to education and offer clinical faculty appointments through a joint application to the University of Victoria Island Medical Program and University of BC Faculty of Medicine. Opportunities exist to teach medical students, family practice residents, and psychiatry residents.

We enjoy strong relationships with geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services within Island Health.

Estimated Salary: $225,000 - $275,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA).

Benefits:
- Recruitment Incentive: up to $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
- Relocation: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Flat Fee: $7,142
- Fee Premium: 6.93%
- CME: $2,000 annum year 3-4 and $4,000 annum after 4 years in the community.
