About This RoleWe are seeking a part-time clinical psychologist to join our team at CFB Comox. As a Military Psychologist Specialist, you will provide psychological assessment and treatment services to military members. This role is ideal for those interested in treating operational trauma and occupational health.
This is a rewarding position where you can make a difference in the lives of men and women who serve our country and keep us safe. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative team model of care, splitting your time between this role and your own private practice.
Key Responsibilities- Providing psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population, including differential diagnosis
- Administering appropriate diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpreting results, and preparing psychological evaluations
- Reporting results and interpretations to the multi-disciplinary team
- Providing treatment of mental health conditions for Canadian Armed Forces members using evidence-based practice
- Participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team in case reviews
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited University by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association
- Registration as a Psychologist and authorization for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body
- 2 years of full-time, post-graduate experience under a license for autonomous practice within the last 5 years
