We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Lawyer to join our team at the Regina Rural Area Office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in criminal and family law and will be able to conduct assigned files to professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary inquiries, pre-trials, case conferences, trials, reviews & appeals.
  • Negotiate competent resolutions of files to achieve fair, early and lasting outcomes for clients.
  • Represent clients at bail hearings, guilty pleas and remands both in-person and remotely.
  • Work independently on cases as assigned by the Legal Director.
  • Complete and accurate time entry and record keeping.

Requirements:

  • Experience in criminal law.
  • Experience in family law.
  • Law degree from a recognized law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
  • Valid Driver's License – Class 5.
  • Technologically savvy with a keen enthusiasm for learning new systems.
  • Commitment to social justice and an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by low-income and marginalized communities.
  • Demonstrated time management and ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.

The successful candidate will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record check. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and will be accepted and evaluated until the position is filled.
