The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, systems, and reports for the Heritage Plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement OHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure legislative and plant compliance.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement safe work procedures and training programs.
  • Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and report on OHS metrics and performance indicators.
Requirements:
  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in health and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate and motivate at all levels.
  • Proven working knowledge of OSHA and relevant regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent supervisory skills.
