We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Neo Financial.

As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of residential mortgage files prior to funding. This involves reviewing documentation, rationale, and information provided in support of a file, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and guidelines.

About the Role:
  • Perform thorough pre-funding reviews of residential mortgage files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide approval for funding or offer observations/findings to the Underwriters as necessary.
  • Address and oversee corrections of any errors identified during the review process.
  • Maintain turnaround times, service levels, and priorities for timely funding of files.
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting team to provide feedback on interpretation of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend best practices for Strategic Initiatives and Quality Control to improve internal processes and procedures.
  • Assist Senior Manager, Quality Control & Reporting in preparing reports for management.

Key Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in residential underwriting, audit, quality control/quality assurance, or loan review in the Canadian residential mortgage industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify risks and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high volume and intensity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Clear understanding of Canadian Mortgage Lending regulations and Federally Regulated Mortgage Insurers (FRMI) requirements and guidelines.
  • Able to understand financial statements and assess financial viability.
