About the Role
This role offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. You will work a combination of in-office and remote hours, typically Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm, with flexibility around start/end times.
We are hiring for this position out of our Calgary office. Successful candidates outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside within a commutable distance.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial mortgage underwriting and business development experience.
- Knowledge of AML and KYC rules and legislations.
- Proven ability to generate sales and market development.
- Exceptional relationship development skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
About the Responsibilities
- Originate and underwrite CMHC insured financing proposals for construction and term mortgages.
- Assist in preparing internal credit application submissions to Peoples Trust's Credit Committee.
- Lead Real Estate Associates, Analysts, and Coordinators.
- Work closely with the Commercial Mortgage Funding team and external legal counsel to ensure efficient funding of assigned loans.
- Drive the success of our Commercial Mortgage division in the Western Canada region.
- Engage in active marketing and business development efforts to grow the Western Canada CMHC insured mortgage portfolio.
- Monitor the mortgage portfolio and identify and manage problem loans.
- Review appraisals and environmental reports according to internal credit policy.
- Manage a portfolio of CMHC insured construction loans to completion and term takeout.
About Compensation
We offer a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. In addition, we provide group benefits and an RRSP matching program starting from day one. The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be asked about their salary expectations during the recruiting process.
