Job Description:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a vital leadership role in the General Internal Medicine team at Toronto Western Hospital. The CNS provides expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that impact clinical practice, contributing to the education and professional development of nursing staff, and participating in academic and research projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families with complex situations
  • Contribute to education and professional development of nursing/interdisciplinary staff
  • Participate in academic and research projects
  • Perform administrative responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or recognized equivalent
  • Five years of experience in acute care center with clinical General Internal Medicine nursing
  • Experience in nursing research methodology
  • Eligibility for cross-appointment to an academic institution
  • Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
