Overview

KPMG in Canada is a leading professional services firm that helps clients manage risk and improve performance. As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of our Audit practice, which provides a high-value service to our clients by helping them assess their risk and ensure transparency across their operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for applying KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies at client engagements. This will include conducting external and internal financial statement audits for both public and private companies, as well as leadership of field engagement teams and coaching and mentoring junior staff members. You will also be required to perform analysis of complex accounting issues and develop and maintain relationships with clients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong accounting or business degree and successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation. You will also need to have 3-5 years post-graduate experience in public accounting and experience with ASPE reporting standards. Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills are also essential, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. You will need to be able to work both independently and within a team environment, and be able to effectively monitor multiple or complex projects regularly to check how they are progressing against deadlines and budget.
