The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is a statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario's capital markets. We foster fair, efficient, and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets.

We are seeking an Accountant II to join our Registration, Inspections & Examinations (RIE) Branch, which oversees crypto-asset trading platforms, dealers, advisers, and investment fund managers. Using a risk-based approach, RIE conducts registration and compliance reviews of registered firms.

This role requires you to conduct reviews of registered firms and regulated entities to assess compliance with Ontario securities laws. You will prepare formal reports detailing non-compliance and work with registered firms to determine corrective actions.

You will also engage with registered firms and stakeholders to find practical solutions to address non-compliance and make recommendations for further regulatory action. Your ability to adapt regulatory principles to industry trends and emerging issues will be essential.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Membership in good standing with CPA Ontario
  • 3-5 years of audit and assurance experience post-CPA, preferably in securities, capital markets, or financial services
  • Demonstrated creativity, results-driven attitude, and excellent communication skills
  • Able to establish collaborative relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders

An estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $85,000-$115,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
