Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our team at D&W Forwarders Inc. in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

This role involves coordinating the movement of trucks, drivers, and freight to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling truck routes, communicating with drivers and customers, and resolving any issues that may arise during transportation.

About You

  • You have a strong background in logistics or transportation, with 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • You possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • You are proficient in computer software, including GPS tracking systems.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule truck routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain constant communication with truck drivers to provide instructions, updates, and address any issues that may arise during transportation.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns.
  • Monitor the location and progress of trucks in real-time, using tracking systems to identify any delays or disruptions.
  • Resolve issues such as breakdowns, traffic delays, or other unexpected challenges, collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including delivery times, routes, and any incidents that occur during transportation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Post Secondary Degree in Administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer software, including GPS tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
