The Senior AML Compliance Analyst role at Scotiabank is a critical position that ensures the overall success of the Residential and Commerical Lending (RESL) in Canada. This individual will contribute to executing specific individual goals, plans, initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Track Unusual Transaction Reporting as submitted by Sales Managers and Underwriters.
  2. Liaise with Mortgage Security team members to identify fraud/ML concerns based on data retrieved from MIMS and RESL reports.
  3. Provide fraud trend data and reports to Security Analysts on the Mortgage Security team.
  4. Administrate Enhanced Due Diligence requests; send them to the appropriate underwriter.
  5. Assist in preparing fraud and AML processes for the Mortgage Security team.
  6. Liaise with Senior Analyst, Mortgage Security and provide risk analysis reports based on Unusual Transaction Reporting.
  7. Support HFS and SMA management staff on various fraud, enhanced due diligence, staff conduct issues.
  8. Evaluate risk concerns identified and escalate to Director, Mortgage Security as needed.
  9. Collaborate with Demarketing Operations team on appeal requests from branches/clients relating to client demarketing.
  10. Prepare quarterly fraud prevention reports for SMA/HFS to be delivered to SVP, RESL.
  11. Update the Mortgage Security Suspicious Employer List weekly and distribute it to MIMS and Mortgage Central.
  12. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

This role requires a high level of expertise in Risk Analysis, Mortgage Underwriting or Policy knowledge, and strong Excel skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with MIMS, Power BI, and a solid understanding of mortgage approval processes.
