Job Overview

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Line Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our power line infrastructure.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per yearJob Description

This position performs a variety of assignments involved in all aspects of installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, specialized testing, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure.

  • Operate a range of hand and power tools and equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations immediately to the foreman.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification.
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract; a Class 1A license is preferred.
  • Previous experience operating various heavy equipment, such as backhoes, trenchers, and skid steers, would be considered an asset.
  • The ability to travel extensively across Saskatchewan and lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is considered safety-sensitive, requiring new hires to complete a pre-employment/pre-access medical test, including drug and alcohol screening and hearing tests.
