Job Summary
The Building Maintenance Technician is a key role responsible for operating facilities, including mechanical and other supporting systems. This involves performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems.
The Technician must work in accordance with established processes and practices, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide observations about facility conditions, mechanical equipment, and system deficiencies, suggesting enhancements and repairs.
- Participate in and assist with facility-related projects, ensuring work is performed in compliance with corporate policies and legislated guidelines.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and building systems and equipment, as per applicable qualifications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
- Communicate effectively for data exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as required.
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety policies, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
- Sound knowledge of facility operations and maintenance processes and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and building systems and equipment.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation: 4th Class Power Engineer Certification, Fireman Boilers Operator Certification, or Building Operator Certification through an accredited institution.
Estimated Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
