About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer to join our operations team at Equinix. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site inspections and supervise building and data center alarms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on on-site infrastructure, including primary systems, and lead vendors as needed.
  • Undertake repairs and corrective maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
  • Complete site logs and data gathering for basic permits, such as MOPs and scripts.
  • Respond to on-site incidents and provide support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the department to provide recommendations for general maintenance activities.
  • Carry out basic infrastructure projects and provide assistance during critical maintenance activities.
  • Work 24/7 operations, including flexibility to work assigned shifts, off-schedule, and respond to emergencies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with critical infrastructure, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and routine maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and items up to 50 pounds.
