Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer to join our operations team at Equinix. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of our data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections and supervise building and data center alarms to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on on-site infrastructure, including primary systems, and lead vendors as needed.
- Undertake repairs and corrective maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
- Complete site logs and data gathering for basic permits, such as MOPs and scripts.
- Respond to on-site incidents and provide support as needed.
- Collaborate with the department to provide recommendations for general maintenance activities.
- Carry out basic infrastructure projects and provide assistance during critical maintenance activities.
- Work 24/7 operations, including flexibility to work assigned shifts, off-schedule, and respond to emergencies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with critical infrastructure, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and routine maintenance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and items up to 50 pounds.
