About the Role:

The Dock Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cruise terminal. This individual will be responsible for managing guest traffic flow, handling lines, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and coworkers
  • Manage guest traffic flow on and off the docks
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure the protection of passengers and the vessel
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to dock
  • Ensure docks are clean and free of any debris
  • Answer general inquiries and provide information about the facility
  • Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns to the Dock Manager
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist guests with questions or concerns and relay information to the Dock Manager
  • Follows all safety policies, departmental policies, and service standards
  • Adheres to all health and safety regulations
  • Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
  • Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
  • Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
  • Will work for extended periods of time without sitting
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms)
  • Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays and weekends
