Labourer 3 - Sewer Maintenance Specialist

The City of Burnaby is seeking a skilled Labourer 3 to join our team in the Sewer Maintenance and Construction department. As a Labourer 3, you will be responsible for performing manual maintenance and construction work of some complexity and variety involving the performance of semi-skilled tasks entailing the exercise of one or more acquired skills with the use of trenchless technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lay out, assist in, and supervise the work of several subordinates engaged in trenchless sewer maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform sanitary and storm sewer maintenance and construction, including the installation and rehabilitation of small to large diameter pipe.
- Perform trench excavation duties and other related work as required.
- Up to high school graduation or equivalent.
- Considerable experience in trenchless rehabilitation sewer construction and maintenance work, including some supervisory experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and materials used in general in completion of trenchless sewers construction and maintenance work.
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions with a minimum of supervision.
- Valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia.
- EOCP level 1 certification would be an asset.
