Job Title: Pump Mechanic and Repairer

We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic and Repairer to join our team at WJ Groundwater Canada Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our groundwater equipment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working with pumps and piping systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps and piping systems
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in equipment
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Supervise other workers and provide guidance on maintenance procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, including cleaning and lubricating moving parts
  • Commission systems and components, ensuring they are functioning properly
  • Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures, identifying and resolving issues quickly
  • Instruct technicians and students on maintenance procedures and best practices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs, keeping maintenance records up to date
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field, such as industrial electronics or mechanical repair
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and provide guidance to others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
