We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Vehicle Repair Specialist to join our team at Dependable Truck & Tank Ltd.
About the CompanyDependable Truck & Tank Limited was founded in 1975 as a family-operated business. Our innovative design and engineering concepts enable us to manufacture cargo tanks, trailers, and emergency vehicles tailored to our clients' specifications.
We specialize in manufacturing versatile cargo tanks and trailer tankers for petroleum product distribution and bulk-related products. Additionally, we produce tankers for municipal maintenance applications. Our custom tanks range from 2000-liter truck-mounted units to 60,000-liter B-train units.
Job DescriptionThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy Duty Vehicle Repair Specialist to work on heavy trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Repairing and replacing front-end components, body parts, doors, frames, and underbody components.
- Hammmering out dents, buckles, and other defects using blocks and hammers.
- Operating soldering equipment or using plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
- Removing damaged fenders, panels, and grills using wrenches and cutting torches and bolting or welding replacement parts into place.
- Straightening bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
- Filing, grinding, and sanding repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Masking and taping auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Mixing paint, blending, and matching colors.
- Applying primers and repainting surfaces using brush or spray guns.
- Repairing and replacing glass components such as windshields, windows, and sunroofs.
- Repairing or replacing interior components, such as seat frame assemblies, carpets, and floorboard insulation.
- Inspecting repaired vehicles and testing them for proper handling.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with occasional overtime required depending on projects. They should expect:
- A full-time schedule with occasional overtime.
- Noisy, dusty conditions indoors.
- Exposure to dust and fumes.
- Working with sharp metals and power tools.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- 5-7 years of experience in automotive or heavy truck repair.
- Journeyman Autobody Technician Certificate of Qualification (required).
- Prioritize proper lifting techniques to handle heavy tools and parts up to 50lbs.
- Demonstrate dexterity and hand skills for technical repairs.
- Show creativity, patience, and attention to detail.
- Have good color vision.
- Display knowledge of plastics, electronics, metals, finishes, and vehicle systems.
