Machinist/Quality Assurance Specialist

Machinist Certification is preferred for this role. We are seeking a highly experienced Machinist/Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Trans-United Consultants Ltd.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Machinist/Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the training of new and existing employees on the proper usage of measuring equipment and quality policies and procedures.
- Inspecting all machined and fabricated jobs to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
- Monitoring in-process jobs throughout the shop to prevent non-conformance issues.
- Inspecting items received from a sub-contracted process prior to release to the customer or the next process to ensure compliance with drawing, process, and customer specifications.
- Preparing and maintaining quality documents such as certificates of compliance or dimensional reports as per customer requirements.
- Maintaining a calibration system for all company-owned and employee-owned measuring instruments.
- Assisting and troubleshooting employee production issues relating to drawing and process interpretation and proper measurement techniques.
- Promoting high expectations, efficiency, and safety in the work environment.
- Operating measuring equipment according to established procedures.
- Identifying irregularities in parts and non-conformance to quality standards.
- Preparing and managing non-conformance reports as per written quality policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues.
- Assisting in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of ISO 9001 policies and procedures.
- Liaising with customers and vendors regarding quality issues.
- Reporting to the President on the current status of projects under your control and communicating critical information to coworkers.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly experienced Machinist/Quality Assurance Specialist with a minimum of 10+ years' work experience in a machine and fabrication shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machinery and equipment, material tolerances, quality control, and working to quality standards.
They will also have good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative, and a commitment to tasks.
