About the Opportunity

The Health Care Social Worker is a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing collaborative, holistic care across the primary to quaternary care continuum. Social Workers focus on the relationships between individuals and their environments, which are integral to psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual well-being. They build upon the strengths of patients/clients by focusing on existing coping strategies and problem-solving skills, past successes, and personal resources.

About You

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. The ideal candidate will have two years of post-BSW related clinical experience and knowledge of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Previous experience working in adult community mental health is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a client-/family-centered approach, familiarity with various evidence-based treatment approaches, and excellent communication skills.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $33.96 - $42.89. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
