Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in the Department of Public Works. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing all phases of bridge and highway construction, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all phases of contract work for bridge and highway construction and rehabilitation
- Conduct and oversee pre-engineering and survey work
- Produce timely quantity and cost estimates
- Perform efficient and cost-effective contract administration
- Recommend construction improvements based on assessments of field conditions
- Contribute to the design of highways and structures
- Supervise office and technical staff
- Maintain good public relations with various agencies, property owners, and the general public
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Registered with Engineers Nova Scotia as an Engineer-in-Training or as Licensed to Practice
- Technical expertise related to bridge and highway maintenance and rehabilitation strategies
- Proficiency in a computerized environment, including Microsoft Suite and software used in an engineering and survey environment
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Public Highways Act
- A competitive salary range of $2,000 - $3,000 bi-weekly
