Project Engineer Job Description

Innovative Drilling, a leading Construction Company within the Municipal Group of Companies, is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to drive the success of our geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, executing, and delivering projects with a focus on safety, budget, and schedule.
  • Define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and support team members.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of project requirements, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations.
  • Support team leads in preparing schedules, job hand-off of awarded work, and assisting with subcontractor management.
  • Coordinate site activities and assist in tasks with the project manager and superintendent.
  • Develop job-specific work packs to aid in project team execution of work.
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks in the office and field, and support daily site-level activities as required.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and support change management as projects progress.
  • Strong understanding of reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Civil/Mining Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience in Heavy Civil Construction, drilling, geotechnical, etc., would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • AutoCAD experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Maritimes to support various projects.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
