Job Title: Database Administrator Senior

The GovernmentServices Integration Cluster (GSIC) is responsible for IT projectmanagement delivery and implementation of technologies in supportof Service Ontario partner ministry projects and other clusterclients. The Shared Utility Service (SUS) environment provides ascaleable and secure IT infrastructure to meet J2EE hosting needsof I&IT clusters and by extension the application and theweb owners in ministry program areas who are their customers. It isan ongoing service and environment that presently hosts multipleinternal and publicfacing government applications. There arepresently 200 hosted applications in SUS with over 30 beingcritical business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer Oracle 19c databases
  • Develop and implement database security measures
  • Design and implement data encryption solutions
  • Monitor and optimize database performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues

Requirements:

  • More than 10 years of experience in Oracle database administration
  • Approved experience of Oracle 12c & 19c using multitenant architecture
  • Oracle 12c RAC Grid infrastructure/ASM
  • RMAN backup and restore
  • Data encryption using ASO/TDE
  • Oracle Data Guard Physical/Logical Configuration & Administration
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration & Management for alerting & reporting
  • UNIX shell scripting
  • SQL optimization tuning and performance experience
  • MSSQL Server installation Configuration and database management

Desirable Skills:

  • Oracle certification OCP
  • Oracle Partitioning
  • Oracle Advanced Compression
  • Oracle Golden Gate Experience with distributed data system
  • Experience with DB2 database technologies
  • Data Conversion from DB2 to Oracle
  • Building of Oracle RAC on conventional Solaris server
  • Oracle Engineered solution
  • Experience of DB web search service
  • Oracle DB data integration and evaluation
  • Experience with middleware and gateways
  • Awareness of emerging IT trends and direction
  • Experience with infrastructure services within the Ontario government (e.g. Internal Infrastructure Hosting policies and Provisioning practices)
