Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team. As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, ensuring data integrity and security, and working closely with our technical team to resolve any technical issues.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Database setup and management, data cleansing, and appending, query analysis, database modeling, segmentation, and profiling.
  • Maintain database dictionaries and integrate systems through database design.
  • Write SQL queries to export/validate/analyze counterparty data.
  • Monitor changes in data to ensure data integrity.
  • Code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
  • Prepare and test change requests when required.
  • Verify/check/compare client counterparty data from the counterparty databases to internal reports and spreadsheets.
  • Produce internal and regulatory reports on a regular or ad hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Strong background in Banking/Financial services.
  • 10+ years working experience in an IT function at a large organization.
  • 10+ years of proven working experience in Microsoft SQL Server technology and current on SQL Server releases (i.e., SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of database and transaction management technologies and operating systems.
  • Experienced with data manipulation languages, data definition languages, physical database design, and application performance analysis and tuning.
  • Expert knowledge to analyze performance issue, identify tuning opportunities, implement improvements, and advise developers on SQL Server.
  • Intermediate knowledge of support and maintaining SQL server.
  • Good understanding of gitHub, DevOps, and deployment automation.
  • Strong documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with a broad range of contacts; from technical staff to management.
  • Proficient organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure.
