Electrical Foreperson Opportunity

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreperson to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a targeted electrification project, establishing world-class operating practices on a large electrical and fibre system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the mine Electricians, ensuring compliance with safety and standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing underground Electricians and providing guidance for daily tasks
  • Supporting the mining group to ensure minimal downtime of equipment and mine services
  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of underground tele-remoting with scoops and surface tele-remoting operations
  • Providing constant feedback and coaching crews to develop/improve performance
  • Working closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Assisting in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing splitter boxes, PTOs, and pump starters

Requirements include:

  • Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification
  • 5 to 7 years' experience working in an underground mine
  • Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Experience working with high voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulation
  • Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code and CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
