Electrical Foreperson Opportunity at Hemlo Operations

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreperson to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures and ensure the crews are also in compliance
  • Direct the underground Electricians and provide guidance for daily tasks
  • Support the mining group to ensure there is minimal downtime of equipment, mine services, etc.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of underground tele-remoting with scoops as well as surface tele-remoting operations
  • Assist in the installation of Sandvik Multilite operations across the mine
  • Provide constant feedback, and coach crews to develop/improve performance
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with our client's counterparts on various projects throughout the mine
  • Assist in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing: Splitter boxes PTO's Pump starters
  • Performs other related work as assigned
Requirements:
  • Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
  • Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification
  • 5 to 7 years' experience working in an underground mine
  • Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Experience working with high voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulation
  • Be knowledgeable with Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code as well as the CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while still being a contributing member of a team
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
