Electrical Foreperson Opportunity at Hemlo Operations

Perenti Group, a leading global mining services company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreperson to join our team at the Hemlo Operations in Ontario, Canada.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of electricians and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in the underground mine. This is a key role in our Hemlo Operations, where we are implementing a targeted electrification project to establish world-class operating practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of electricians to ensure compliance with safety and standard operating procedures
  • Direct daily tasks and provide guidance to underground electricians
  • Support the mining group to minimize downtime of equipment and mine services
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of underground tele-remoting with scoops and surface tele-remoting operations
  • Contribute to the installation of Sandvik Multilite operations across the mine
  • Provide feedback and coaching to develop/improve performance
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with client counterparts on various projects throughout the mine
  • Assist in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing splitter boxes, PTOs, and pump starters
Requirements
  • Commitment to working safely and ensuring the safety of others
  • Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification
  • 5-7 years' experience working in an underground mine
  • Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Experience working with high-voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulation
  • Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code and CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while being a contributing member of a team
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
