Position Overview

This exciting opportunity in our Ottawa office will provide a Project Engineer within the Electrical Engineering Group to work on high-profile projects and act as a Project Lead on new construction and re-model projects. The successful candidate will apply their engineering knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion in commercial, retail, and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems in commercial buildings with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Expertise in high, medium, and low voltage distribution and protection, lighting, dimming control, emergency and standby/critical power, grounding, lightning protection, data and voice communication, electronic sub-metering, and fire alarm systems.
  • LEED certification and experience with multi-disciplinary projects, including Architectural, Mechanical, Structural, and Communication systems.
  • Represent the company at design coordination meetings and construction phase reviews.
  • Prepare change notices, quotations, and progress draw reviews.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and clients as a good team player.
Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • P.Eng designation preferred.
