Automotive Finance Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class service to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Appraise and determine accurate wholesale and retail values on assets to maximize national returns.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends, including those related to boats, RVs, trailers, ATVs, motorcycles, and other financed securities.
- Prepare detailed support documents and perform duties related to intake, repossession, transport, and skip processes according to company policies and legislative guidelines.
- Closely and accurately invoice accounts.
- Provide information and guidance to customers to facilitate bringing accounts current.
- Maintain detailed records and manage vendor performance to ensure tasks are completed and expectations met.
- Conduct PPSA searches, discharges, and registrations, as well as complaint tracking and resolution.
- Assign and track third-party vendors, including bailiffs, tracers, transporters, auctions, dealers, lawyers, and agencies.
- Update and prepare various reports, manipulate data, and provide meaningful insights.
- Document processes and train other employees.
Requirements
- University or college degree preferred.
- Two to five years of remarketing, repossession, and collections experience or a combination of education and industry-related experience.
- Strong knowledge of the automotive finance lifecycle and the automotive industry, including vehicle values.
- Familiarity with non-standard items, such as recreational vehicles, ATVs, trailers, boats, motors, motorcycles, and other equipment.
- Firm understanding of Privacy Laws, Personal Property Security Acts, and collections laws across Canada, as well as automotive sales regulations.
- Understanding of Canadian insolvency laws and legal recovery processes.
- Quebec collections and recovery experience an asset.
- Proficiency with inventory management software, client maintenance software, collections software, and Microsoft Office, with advanced user experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Superb oral and written communication skills in English, with bilingual French/English an asset.
