Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Asset Recovery Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for appraising and determining accurate wholesale and retail values on assets to maximize national returns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide best-in-class service to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
  2. Appraise and determine accurate wholesale and retail values on assets using tools like CBB, Nada, Blue books, Trader, and online resources.
  3. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, including Boats, RVs, Trailers, ATVs, Motorcycles, Standard road vehicles, tractors, and other financed securities.
  4. Prepare detailed support documents and perform duties related to intake, repossession, transport, and skip processes according to company policies and legislative guidelines.
  5. Closely and accurately invoice accounts.
  6. Provide information and guidance to customers to facilitate bringing accounts current.
  7. Maintain detailed records and manage vendor performance to ensure tasks are completed and expectations met.
  8. Perform PPSA searches, discharges, and registrations, as well as complaint tracking and resolution.
  9. Assign and track third-party vendors, including Bailiffs, Tracers, Transporters, Auctions, dealers, lawyers, and agencies.
  10. Update and prepare various reports, manipulate data, and provide meaningful insight.
  11. Document processes and train other employees.

Requirements

  • University or college degree preferred.
  • Two to five years of remarketing, repossession, and collections experience or a combination of education and industry-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive finance lifecycle and the automotive industry, including vehicle values.
  • Familiarity with non-standard items like recreational vehicles, ATV's, trailers, Boats, Motors, Motorcycles, and other equipment.
  • Firm understanding of Privacy Laws, Personal Property Security Acts, and collections laws across Canada.
  • Understanding of Canadian insolvency laws and legal recovery processes.
  • Quebec collections and recovery experience an asset.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software, client maintenance software, collections software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Bilingual French/English is an asset.
