Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct physical assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and healthcare staff on various topics related to emergency medicine.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize departmental efficiency.
- Master's degree in nursing or equivalent.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class.
- Certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario to prescribe controlled substances.
- Experience in emergency medicine or a related field, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
