Job Title: Senior Manager, Wealth Management Taxation

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Wealth Management Taxation to join our team. As a key member of our Wealth Management Taxation team, you will play a critical role in providing tax expertise and enhancing the delivery of our Total Wealth offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team of planning specialists to provide advanced tax planning strategies to high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients.
  • Consult and discuss with advisors and their HNW and UHNW clients on tax planning strategies, including tax, trust, and estate planning, intergenerational wealth transfer, business transition and succession, insurance, philanthropy, and education planning.
  • Participate in business development activities and prospective client meetings.
  • Capture and socialize success stories connected to client engagements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the Advanced Planning and Services and the Wealth Management Taxation teams' service offerings.
Requirements:
  • University degree.
  • Professional designation (e.g., CPA, LLB).
  • CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program or MTax degree.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a professional organization providing tax planning and compliance for HNW and UHNW clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluency in speaking and understanding Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
  • Other professional designations (e.g., TEP, CFP, CLU).
  • In-Depth Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business course.
  • Solid understanding of financial products and services.
  • Solid knowledge of marketplace and competitive practices.
