We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at The Biryaniwalla Scarborough. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. This includes preparing and cooking special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef. You will also be responsible for inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, supervising kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and cleaning kitchen and work areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Ability to work under pressure
