Job Title: Avalanche Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Avalanche Management Specialist to join our team at Alpine Solutions Avalanche Services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment and instruments, processing data to conduct basic analyses of trends, participating in field checks and verification, and forecasting and controlling avalanches in mountainous terrain. They will also perform data entry and verify accuracy and completeness of data.

A key aspect of this role is working under pressure and being physically demanding. The ability to work efficiently in a team environment and possess organized skills are essential. Furthermore, the candidate must be proficient in MS Office applications including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
  • 5 years or more experience in avalanche observation and control

This is a seasonal on-the-road position requiring 40 hours of work per week. Candidates must be fluent in English.

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $62,400-$82,700 CAD, depending on qualifications and location. This figure is based on national averages and industry standards. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
