**The Team**:
The Sea to Sky Natural Resource District Operations team is a well-established, dynamic group of 20 forest professionals and talented support staff. Working closely with other forest authorizations and stewardship teams, this group plays a key role in managing forest resources to benefit British Columbians and support reconciliation with First Nations. **The Role**:
This position is intended to develop an individual who aspires to start a career as a Forest Professional in British Columbia. As a Resource Specialist - Revenue, your top priority is ensuring accurate revenue collection for forest resource use through risk-based audits of professional submissions. **Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
Grid 21:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience; or, a Technical Diploma in a natural resource management related field and two (2) years of related experience; or, a Certificate or coursework in a natural resource management related field and four (4) years of related experience.
- Registered as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with Forest Professionals BC, or able to transfer a current Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or related professional designation to FPBC within six (6) months of employment. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
Grid 18:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field and six (6) months of related experience; or, Diploma in a natural resource management related field and one (1) year of related experience; or, a Certificate or coursework in a natural resource management related field and two (2) years of related experience.
- Preference may be given to graduates of an FPBC Recognized Program.
Grid 15:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field and related experience; or, Diploma in a natural resource management related field and six (6) months of related experience; or, a Certificate or coursework in a natural resource management related field and one (1) year of related experience.
- Preference may be given to graduates of an FPBC Recognized Program.
Related experience includes the following:
- Experience with natural resource management concepts resource-based legislation regulations policies and environmental values and issues.
- Experience working positively and respectfully with clients, community groups, First Nations, or other government agencies and industry.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience timber cruising, timber appraisals, and/or waste assessments.
- Experience in supervising, leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
- Those recently enrolled with, or immediately eligible to enroll (within two (2) months) with FPBC as a Trainee.
Willingness Statements:
- Willingness to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Must be physically able to carry equipment and supplies in difficult terrain.
- May be required to operate field equipment (i.e., quad, snowmobile).
**About this Position**:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Squamish.
Developmental Opportunity: Applicants will be appointed to the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications.
