Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our team at the City of Windsor. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our Public Works operational areas, including Environmental Services, Fleet Division, Road and Sewer Operations, Technical Support, Field Services, and Traffic Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Public Works team, ensuring effective service delivery and budget control.
  • Attend City Council and Committee meetings, presenting reports and maintaining relationships with City Councilors and the Mayor.
  • Develop and implement customer service programs to enhance the quality of service delivery.
  • Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation's Health and Safety Program.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Science or Engineering, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency, and over six (6) years of experience in a managerial capacity in an Operations environment.
  • OR University Degree in Science or Engineering, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency, and over ten (10) years of experience in a managerial capacity in an Operations environment.
  • Licensed member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely manner, with a current, valid Driver's License if travel is by vehicle.
  • Experience in Human Resources Management, Financial/Budget Management, and working in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate and establish effective relationships with all staff levels and elected officials.
