Senior Patent Lawyer Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Patent Lawyer to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preparing and prosecuting Canadian patent and industrial design applications, with a focus on mechanical and electrical fields.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute Canadian patent and industrial design applications
  • Communicate with clients and CIPO on matters including preparing, filing, and prosecution of patent and industrial design applications
  • Oversee maintenance of issued patents, including monitoring deadlines and overseeing payment of maintenance fees
  • Provide patent infringement and validity opinions
  • Manage deadlines and client requests

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Law degree and registered Canadian Patent Agent
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and file management skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently or under senior lawyers
  • Superior work ethic, self-motivation, and attention to detail
  • Exceptional research, practice management, negotiation, and advocacy skills
