Payroll Manager

At DPC Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P., we're committed to excellence and care in everything we do. As a Payroll Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee payroll processing activities to guarantee precise and timely delivery of payroll output.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Payroll Manager to develop strategic direction for HR policies and practices, as well as system integrations.
- Participate actively in the day-to-day payroll activities and payroll processing cycle.
- Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team members.
- Maintain and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Work with the Accounting Department to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for other payroll processing activities, including stock options, bonus processing, T&E, and more.
- Coordinate and review internal and external audits in collaboration with the audit team, finance, operations, and the payroll team.
- Provide support to operational plants for basic Kronos requests, payroll inquiries, and ad-hoc requests.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax balancing activities for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Adhere to company audit standards for payroll processing and identify potential risks.
- Collaborate with other functional areas on payroll issues and projects, including HR, Benefits, and IT.
- Lead the payroll team in the year-end process to ensure timely and accurate year-end documents.

- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent Business-related degree.
- Certified Payroll Professional designation or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll-related processes or leadership experience, with a minimum of 4 years of managerial experience.
- Management skills: ability to motivate and manage performance of others.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and payroll principles.
- Working knowledge of wage rules at the state and federal levels.
- ADP's Enterprise application and knowledge of Workday is an asset.
Hybrid work environment with the possibility to work from home 2 days a week.
As part of this role, you'll have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec and the rest of Canada or North America.
