We are seeking a Crisis Support Specialist to join our team at Family Services of Greater Vancouver. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Description

The Crisis Support Specialist will provide critical support and guidance to individuals experiencing crisis situations, including those affected by trauma, abuse, or other forms of distress. This role requires exceptional listening and communication skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement crisis response plans;
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and progress.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work or counseling;
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a crisis support or related role;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Compensation
