We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Ecologist/Biologist to join our team at Montrose Environmental Group. As a key member of our Eastern Ecological Services Team, you will be responsible for leading a range of ecological projects across Canada, working with clients, approval agencies, and sub-consultants to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage ecological projects, including habitat and channel restoration, environmental assessment, and community infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to grow our ecological services business line.
- Provide technical input and support to junior and intermediate staff on a variety of projects, including natural heritage assessments, environmental impact studies, and wildlife studies.
- Design and execute complex biological investigations and oversee field surveys.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and marketing materials.
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff members.
- Minimum of 10 to 20+ years of consulting experience in a directly related role.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field with a focus on aquatic biology, ecology, soil science, and/or toxicology.
- Business development experience with a proven track record of building productive client relationships.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, project scope, and schedule management.
- Technical abilities in ecological study design, field sampling protocols, statistical analysis, and report preparation and review.
- Familiarity with pertinent regulatory requirements and processes.
- Ability to work on a variety of projects in various sectors, including urban, transportation, infrastructure, oil and gas, wind, and hydropower.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate various activities.
- Ability to register as a planner (RPP/MCIP), professional agrologist, or professional biologist.
- Valid G class driver's license.
