Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials through the warehouse and dockyard to support ship maintenance activities. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Receiving, verifying, and inspecting incoming material and documentation; processing receipts; tracking shipments;
  • Shipping domestic, US, and international outgoing freight in accordance with packaging specifications; completing documentation and labeling; complying with customs and export requirements;
  • Processing requisitions; issuing, picking, packaging, and moving material; distributing parts for customer delivery;
  • Inventory control functions, including cycle counting, stocktaking tasks, and investigations; monitoring stocking levels and shelf-life inventory; reviewing and recommending adjustments;
  • Accurately entering data into the Inventory Management System to update material activity and status; preparing and generating warehouse reports; maintaining registers and records;
  • Cordinating and recording movement of Material Assets, including actioning and scheduling shipping requirements with couriers and freight forwarders; tracking freight; resolving frustrated cargo situations and identifying areas of improvement in distribution;
  • Overseeing material returns, identifying routing requirements; processing, tracking, and reporting on status as required; directing component repair and overhaul (R&O) activity; monitoring repair lines and schedule; tracking and reporting on status; expediting availability from repair to maintain stocking levels;
  • Operating delivery vehicles, forklifts, and other material handling equipment (MHE); loading/unloading transport vehicles and containers; performing general daily housekeeping to maintain a high level of cleanliness in work areas;
  • Providing support in implementing improved SAP functionality to improve logistic efficiencies; supporting activities to ensure compliance with ISO series quality accreditation and Defense regulatory requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a logistics environment, with proven warehouse and logistics experience in a fast-paced environment, able to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines;
  • Previous experience using SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems;
  • Knowledge of U.S. International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Canadian Export and Import Permits Act;
  • Familiarization with Occupational Health, Safety & Environment policies and procedures;
  • Physical demands: lifting up to 22kg/50lbs and walking or standing for the majority of the working shift;
  • A valid forklift license and/or operator experience; a valid and current Provincial driver's license.
