We are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our team at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily repairs and adjustments of HVAC equipment
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems
- Replace defective or worn system components
- Test and service refrigeration systems
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble compressors and other equipment
- Test and repair motor control devices
- Install and upgrade HVAC equipment and ductwork
- Perform seasonal start-up and close-down operations
- Record details of repairs and modifications
- Valid Refrigeration, Air Conditioning mechanics license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license
- Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate
- Valid G1 gas fitters license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development or an equivalent Canadian inter-provincial license
- Valid Ontario driver's license
- Minimum grade 12 secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five years' experience in diagnostic evaluation, maintenance, installation, set up, and commissioning of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
