Job Title: Welder-Fitter

Kiwi Constructors Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a Welder-Fitter, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with dusty, hot, and noisy conditions. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a commercial, industrial, and institutional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including gas welding machines and spot welding machines
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Requirements
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Propane in Construction Record of Training
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Forklift Operator Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in custom fabrication, structural construction, and fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings
  • Basic security clearance
