Job Summary

Samsung Electronics Canada is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice on intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Support the development and coordination of projects involving the protection of IP.
  • Provide employment-related legal advice, including drafting employment contracts, policies, and other employment-related documents.
  • Conduct employment and compliance investigations.
  • Negotiate and draft transactional documents and agreements.
  • Provide guidance on applicable privacy laws and establish corporate compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a Canadian school or a recognized international school.
  • Called to the bar and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario or the law society of another Canadian province.
  • Extensive knowledge of intellectual property law, employment law, contracts, contract negotiation, privacy law, and corporate ethics and compliance.
  • Solid legal training in corporate commercial law gained from a law firm or corporate setting with 3 to 5 years of experience.
