Role Overview

The Pre-Board Screening Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers and creating a positive travel experience by efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
  • Provide information professionally and with integrity
  • Confirm valid boarding passes
  • Scan and test baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology, along with physical search techniques
  • Protect restricted areas
  • Manage conflict
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Uphold all regulations with vigilance

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
  • Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
  • Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Current resident of Williams Lake, or the surrounding area
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
