Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Dining Services team at St. Thomas University as a General Help Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, equipment, and kitchen environments.

This is a full-time union position with CUPE, offering a comprehensive benefits package, including health benefits, employee meal plan, paid vacation time, paid sick time, complimentary uniforms and safety shoes, and up to 50% reimbursement for professional development initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Maintain the dishwashing station, three-compartment sink, and related areas cleaned.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and in working condition; report any issues to management.
  • Perform other light maintenance and custodial tasks.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation.
  • Ensure the security of company assets.
Requirements
  • Experience in food service is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

This role may have physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
