EHS Manager Position for Ontario

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join their team in Mississauga, Ontario.
About the RoleThis role will involve performing health, safety, and compliance functions as assigned by management, including site inspections and safety communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage a team of EHS Advisors and field Coordinators
- Develop, implement, and enforce local and regional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct site inspections to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards
- Investigate reports of incidents and injuries
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on operations hours and incidents
- Support Workers' Compensation Board (WSIB) claim reporting and return-to-work activities
- Provide information and resources for safety training sessions
- Communicate health and safety policies and procedures to employees
- Maintain safety files, employee records, and training databases
- College diploma or university degree in health and safety or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in a health and safety or a related role
- 2-3 years of experience mentoring and managing field-level staff
- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry safety standards
- Experience with IHSA COR certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
