The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, identifying actual or potential problems and strengths through nursing diagnosis.
  2. Participate in and support the total therapeutic program of the unit, actively communicating with members of the healthcare team about patients' care.
  3. Collect information from various sources, using observation, communication, and physical assessment skills, to provide appropriate nursing care.
  4. Write timely and accurate reports of relevant assessments and observations, including patient and family education and evaluation of nursing care.
  5. Communicate and consult with members of the healthcare team about patients' care, setting priorities, and assigning and delegating tasks to support staff.
Qualifications and Requirements

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) is required. May require completion of a substance use certificate program.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have knowledge of mental illness and substance use treatment, psychopharmacology, and legislation and government policies related to mental health and substance use practices.
