Role Overview


The Harness Assembler Trainee will be responsible for training and learning the trade, developing technical skills, and performing the assembly of harnesses under the supervision of experienced assemblers. This role requires strong manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school vocational diploma in a relevant field and 0-2 years of experience in electronics assembly or a related field.


Key Responsibilities



  • Crimp contacts and perform wire pull tests to ensure high-quality cable assemblies.
  • Terminate connectors (D-Sub/HD) with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare cables and wires for assembly, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal waste.
  • Assemble harnesses according to established procedures and standards.
  • Mechanically assemble connectors and backshells, demonstrating excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Tin components to protect against corrosion and ensure reliable connections.
  • Prepare, handle, and use polymer products for bonding components, following safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Strong reading comprehension skills to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with production databases and software applications.
  • Good knowledge of French (linguistic level B2), with basic English proficiency an asset.
  • Fine manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform intricate tasks.
  • Secondary school vocational diploma in a relevant field, such as electronics or mechanical engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in electronics assembly or a related field, with potential for advancement.
