Job Summary

MDA Space is seeking a skilled Harness Assembler Trainee to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills in harness assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crimp contacts and perform wire pull tests.
  • Terminate connectors (D-Sub/HD).
  • Prepare cables and wires.
  • Make harnesses.
  • Mechanically assemble connectors and backshells.
  • Tin components.
  • Prepare, handle, and use polymer products for bonding components.
  • Any other related duties.

Requirements

  • Reading of drawings.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
  • Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
  • Use of production databases.
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Fine manual dexterity.
  • Education: Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a relevant field.
  • Experience: None to two (2) years of experience required.
  • Linguistic Level: Good knowledge of French. Basic knowledge of English is an asset.

Security Clearance

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
